The tourism sector – and the need for English translations – is as varied as the possible travel destinations, which means that these translations often overlap with other industries. For example, English tourism translations have many of the same aspects of marketing translations. Many travellers − myself included − want to really experience and learn about their destination, requiring English translations for museums, media and culture, for example for exhibitions, tourist information, information boards, trail information, audio guides and much more.

My experience in this industry began twelve years ago. As a tour guide in Granada, Spain, I shared the Andalusian culture with my clients, and quickly learned the best, most interesting ways to do this. Years later, I am now an expert in travel, intercultural communication and English tourism translation.

The latest adventures

The Rheinsteig – a 320km long-distance trail from Bonn to Wiesbaden. With many steep climbs and descents through Germany’s beautiful low mountain range along the picturesque River Rhine, this trail paints a romantic fairytale picture of North Rhine-Westphalia and Hesse while crossing through vineyards, castles, forests and fields.
Backpacking through Argentina – a year packed full of discovery, breathtaking backdrops, hiking and astounding nature – as well as of course learning about travel itself and what travellers want and need as they go.
